Great News for Mac Users!
Tata Indicom Photon+ High speed USB modem that claims to offer download speeds up to 3.1 mbps is compatible with mac. The Tata Indicom website does not say so, but the driver is built in the device which is Huawei EC 1260.

Tata Indicom Sungil CDMA Modem on Mac OS X.5
Procedure to connect with Sungil SXC – 1080 USB CDMA modem using Mac OS 10.5
(Data Connectivity only)
I have done it on Tata Indicom network and have a Macbook Pro. It should also work well on a Macbook.
Your SIM card must be pre-activated on windows or a CDMA phone. (Important update.. Feb 2009. Recently Tata Indicom has asked its customer to upgrade the SIM card. Please take your SIM card to a Tata Indicom outlet and ask them to insert it in a Tata Mobile and dial *228 from it. Follow the instructions that you hear on that call)
Boot your Mac
Insert Sungil SXC – 1080 in the USB port
Open System Preferences
Click on Network

A dialog box will open up. Click OK!

Go to Location.
Choose Edit Locations..
Click on +
Say Sungil SXC - 1080 USB CDMA
Hit Done

On the left Menu, select Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM
Choose Configuration: Add Configuration

Create a new Configuration called: Say Tata Indicom CDMA
Hit Create

Enter the following:
Telephone Number: #777
Account Name: internet
Password: internet
Check on “Check modem status in menu bar
Click on Advanced

Select Modem: (Verizon is my personal favorite)
Vendor: Other
Model: Verizon Support (PC 5220)
Dial Mode: Ignore dial tone while dialing
Go to PPP
The following options have been also tested to be working good in order of my personal preference:
Vendor: Sierra
Model: CDMA
Vendor: Franklin
Model: CDMA
Vendor: Sprint
Model: PCS Version
Vendor: Novatel
Model: CDMA
Vendor: au by KDDI
Model: cdmaOne Bluetooth
Vendor: I-O DATA
Model: USB/2-xxADP
Vendor: NTT DoCoMo
Model: P/FxxxiX
Vendor: Supra
Model: SupraExpress V.90 USB
Vendor: WILLCOM
Model: AH-J3003S (USB)
Vendor: SoftBank
Model: C01SI (PC Card)

Uncheck all options under sessions, except Disconnect when user logs out
Click ok

Hit Apply, and hit CONNECT...

2. Insert Sungil SXC – 1080 in the USB port
3. Open System Preferences
4. Open Network. A dialog box will open up. Click OK!

5. Go to Location. Make a new location. Say Tata Indicom CDMA

6. Go to Show. Select Qualcomm CDMA Technologies
7. Enter Service Provider to identify connection.
8. Account name for Tata Indicom CDMA: internet
9. Password for Tata Indicom CDMA: internet
10.Telephone Number for Tata Indicom CDMA: #777

11. Click PPP options. Uncheck all but the ones that are checked in the snapshot below.

12. Go to Modem. Select au cdmaOne Bluetooth Adapter
13. Uncheck Enable error connection and compression in modem
14. Uncheck Wait for dial tone before dialing
15. Check modem status in Menu Bar.
16. Hit Apply now. You are now set to connect.

17. Open Internet Connect and click connect

And here are you connected. Wallah!!! It works…
